WHAT IS TRIVIUM TALKS?

The ethos of Trivium Talks is
(a) to encourage critical thinking and offer talks that fall outside of the mainstream purview;
(b) to facilitate friendships and networking amongst people who are interested in such things.

Trivium Talks was established in 2024 and is based in Devon. Our inaugural event was a day long presentation near Exeter in January 2025 by Dr Steven A. Young entitled ‘A Fool’s Wisdom: Science Fallacies & the Secret Art of Alchemy’. This was a great success with approx 65 audience members (from as far afield as Bristol and Yorkshire) and a team of volunteers running the event.

This was followed up in 2025 with:
(a) a talk by Guy Anderson entitled ‘THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE TARTARIAN CIVILISATION – Architectural Wonders and Technology Harnessing Energy from the Aether’;
(b) a day with John Martineau entitled ‘BEAUTY, FLOWERS, & VENUS – The Divine Harmony on Earth and in the Heavens’; and
(c) a talk by Peter Knight entitled ‘STOLEN IMAGES: Pagan Symbolism and Christianity’.

Trivium Talks has a focus (which is not exclusive) on the Trivium and Quadrivium, which together form the seven liberal arts of Grammar, Logic, Rhetoric, Mathematics, Geometry, Music, & Cosmology. These have formed the basis of education since classical times. We feel strongly that knowing, understanding, and applying the seven liberal arts is fundamental to a good education and a rounded life. After all, these subjects have been considered the educational cornerstone since antiquity. Unfortunately, our modern education system is increasingly excluding or watering down these subjects. Even music is disappearing from state education provision.

With this backdrop, we would love to be a part of spreading access to learning and application of these subjects.

* ‘The Geology of Dartmoor’ with Josephine Collingwood
